Maharajas Alumni Association (MAA)
Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, the only autonomous government college in Kerala has always maintained an exalted status in the annals of educational and cultural history of Kerala since its inception in 1875.It imparts quality education to students from every stratum of society without compromising on the standards of academic excellence. The college, accredited with “A”grade and NIRF ranking 53 in College Category, has a rich legacy of renowned alumni comprising political heavy weights, accomplished writers, artists, scientists, prominent thinkers and business tycoons. Recognizing alumni management and engagement of alumni in the developmental aspirations of Maharaja’s College as an urgent requirement, a group of Alumni members have come up with a platform “Maharajas Alumni Association”. As the college is celebrating its 150th years of existence in 2025, MAA is formed as a one and only solution to address many of the developmental concerns of the college.
Maharajas Alumni Association (MAA) is the official alumni association of the college registered under Charitable society act on 07/06/2023 (Reg.No: EKM/TC/311/2023). The association is planning to undertake several infrastructural development and student support programmes through the active involvement of alumni. MAA provides a sophisticated system with a single and effective platform to track, reconnect and engage with its alumni through frequent updation of its database and tracking of all alumni activities, events and their contributions.
Aims and objectives of Maharajas Alumni Association:
The Association will be a non-profit making Society with the following aims and objectives:
1.To uphold the democratic and inclusive traditions of Maharaja’s College and to strive for their furtherance, through all the activities of ‘The Association’;
2.To foster close relationship between Alumni and the College;
3. To recognize and identify the role of Alumni as important stakeholders in the continuing quest to provide excellence in education by way of academic and technical collaborations;
4. To realize the enormous benefits that may come from the engagement of Alumni with the college and seek their support in identifying strategic directions for this institution;
5. To provide opportunities for community service and to act as good will ambassadors of college within India and abroad;
6.To organize Annual meet, socio-cultural events and periodic Lectures/Seminars etc.;
7. To honor distinguished Alumni who have excelled and contributed in their respective domains;
8. To have “Chapters/Clusters of The Association” within India and outside India for furtherance of the objectives of The Association
The Office of ‘The Association’ shall be located within College campus and the operations of ‘The Association’ shall be carried out through this office.
The Members of The Association are those who have been full-time former students of Maharaja’s college and have acquired a graduate/ post- graduate /Ph.D. degree from Maharaja’s college or who have been former students and remained continuously registered for at least four full semesters(two years) in an academic programme.
